Badrul Huda qualified as a registered osteopath in 1989 and has been treating patients for many years, giving relief in back pain, sports’ injuries, headaches, repetitive strain injuries and stress related conditions, to name but a few.
Badrul has seen the benefit of applying osteopathic techniques to treat specific areas of the body, and is now extending this form of treatment in a more generalised, holistic approach for the whole body, in osteopathic massage.
This form of massage is a deep tissue massage, improving and restoring the physical functions of muscles and joints, relieving pain and improving lymphatic drainage and general circulation. The whole body is usually addressed except when there may be contra indications due to specific illness or conditions. It is safe for all age groups, but a detailed history and examination will be carried out at the initial consultation.
Badrul’s therapy can detect small differences in temperatures, textures, motion and circulation within the tissues and joints of the body through the use of highly sensitive palpation skills.
The only tool used for osteopathic massage is the hand. Whereas osteopathic treatments can be carried out whilst the patient is clothed, osteopathic massage is carried out on the unclothed skin of the patient and oils or lotions are applied.
Initial consultation including treatment takes about 45 minutes whilst the patient’s history is collected and examination is carried out. This will include looking at the patient’s range of movement, joint functions and general mobility. A postural assessment will also be carried out.
After initial assessment, treatments will take about 30 minutes.
During treatment, Badrul will focus on increasing the body’s vitality, by freeing restrictions within joints and muscles, thereby affecting posture and mobility, helping to remove any blockage or restriction to the flow of blood, lymph or nerves. This increase in flow assists in the body tissue’s ability to receive nutrition and oxygen and enhances the drainage and removal of waste and toxins from the body. This will give the patient a feeling of wellbeing, and by helping the body to work in a more effective way, builds the body’s energy reserves, boosts its immune system and this will lead to the prevention of disease in general.
